Favorite Reading/Author so far

So far in the readings John Muir has really grasped my attention. He has come with ways to provide significant detail but doesn't bore me. My more favorite readings was his "A Thousand Mile Walk into the Gulf". In this reading it was clearly evident that he respects all living things and holds it to such a degree that is really nice to hear. His voice really comes alive with talks of Christianity and really emphasizes God to justify a lot of why things are the way they are. He believes quite strongly that all living creatures and things are gifts from God and should be really respected. Another reading that I didn't necessarily love, but liked certain parts of was the Henry David Thoreau "Walden" reading. I can already tell from Thoreau's voice that he sounds a little stuck up and egotistical, but he really appreciates nature as well and wants to fully immerse himself in it. I also really liked how he didn't prefer college because nothing a school could teach would show him the real world and how things worked. He wanted to go out and experience it on his own.
